Horseshoe hires Pereira and Lavery as SVP’s

Bermuda-headquartered ILS and reinsurance management, servicing, risk transformation and fronting specialist Horseshoe Group has announced the hiring of Anna Pereira as SVP, Head of Treasury and Mark Lavery as SVP, Head of Marketing & Communications respectively.

Horseshoe said the hires are part of its efforts to further strengthen its global offerings to the reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) space, with both of the hires based out of the firm’s Bermuda office and set to take on important roles in the global business.

Pereira has more than 20 years’ of experience across the Insurance, Reinsurance, Alternative Risk Transfer and Capital markets in Bermuda. She was previously the Head of Captive and Insurance Banking with HSBC Bank Bermuda Ltd. and has also worked in underwriting roles at Chubb Financial Solutions, and Everest Re Bermuda. Pereira will take on responsibility for managing Horseshoe’s global banking and trustee relationships from Philip Jones, who is set to retire from his full-time position this month, but will stay on as a consultant.

Mark Lavery has in excess of 10 years’ financial services marketing and communications experience, gained both in the Bermuda and international markets. Most recently Lavery was Senior Manager, Markets at KPMG in Bermuda. He will be tasked with leading and supporting Horseshoe’s global marketing, communications, knowledge management and business development initiatives.
