Former SCOR Investment Partners insurance-linked securities (ILS) executive Vincent Prabis has been hired by Hiscox, to become its new Managing Principal, Hiscox ILS.
Prabis has a significant level of experience in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance market, having worked at SCOR’s investment management division for more than 8 years, building and expanding its ILS, catastrophe bond and collateralised reinsurance investments practice.
His appointment as Managing Principal, Hiscox ILS is subject to Department of Immigration and Bermuda Regulatory approval, but once approved Prabis will take over responsibility for leading Hiscox’s ILS and third-party reinsurance capital investment activities.
He will be tasked with further evolving the Hiscox ILS strategy, whilee ensuring investor demands for high-quality, innovative and diversified solutions are met.
Prabis will also become a member of the Hiscox Re & ILS Executive team and will report to Kathleen Reardon, CEO of Hiscox Re & ILS.

Prabis has a background in science and risk modelling, with particular expertise in earthquake risks.
He began his insurance and reinsurance career at AXIS in Switzerland in 2004, before moving to Bermuda a managing an ILS portfolio for Pulsar Re.
Prabis then worked for investment manager Acheron Capital in London for a couple of years from 2008, before moving to Paris and taking on the lead role at SCOR Investment Partner’s ILS operation.
