Guy Carpenter has named a new CEO for its Pacific treaty and facultative reinsurance broking operations, promoting existing senior employee Jeff Saper to the role.

guy-carpenter-logoSaper has worked for Guy Carpenter twice in his career, originally joining the firm in 1999 and working for the firm in Australia for a number of years, before then moving to rival broker Beach, but returning to Guy Carpenter in 2014. He has more than 30 years of experience, much of which was in reinsurance broking.

He then led the brokers Facultative reinsurance operations in both Asia Pacific and Australia for a number of years, before taking this promotion.

As CEO of the Pacific region for Guy Carpenter, Saper will take responsibility for the firm’s Treaty and Facultative reinsurance broking activities across the Pacific region.

He will also be tasked with delivering a growth strategy, strengthening the brokers capabilities in the regions and will also keep his responsibilities for leading Facultative business in the region as well.

Based in Sydney, Saper will report to Tony Gallagher, Asia Pacific CEO.

Gallagher commented on the news, “Jeff has achieved considerable growth across our Facultative business in Australia and has helped to make the division one of the fastest growing businesses in the Asia Pacific region. With over 30 years in the reinsurance industry, he has established a strong reputation built upon his extensive market knowledge of the Pacific region. I am confident that Jeff will lead the Pacific forward to the next level and continue to grow our business in the region.”
