Guy Carp promotes Mayer to COO, Mowery to Global Head of Distribution

Guy Carpenter, the global reinsurance broking unit of Marsh & McLennan Companies, has promoted some of its senior leadership to new roles, with Neil Mayer becoming COO and Lara Mowery taking a new position as Global Head of Distribution.

Both Mayer and Mowery have been named to the Guy Carpenter Executive Committee, along with current Chief Information Officer John Crichton.

The reinsurance broker said the moves are part of its commitment to differentiated value and experience for clients.

Neil Mayer has worked for Marsh & McLennan since 2010, joining Guy Carpenter in 2016 and holding the Global Head of Strategy and Planning role, followed by Chief Operating Officer, North America.

In the new position as Chief Operating Officer for Guy Carpenter, he will take oversight of the brokers central operations, client support services, marketing & communications and data strategy teams, as well as leading the firm’s Operating Committee.

Lara Mowery has worked at Guy Carpenter for over 22 years, having joined the company in 1997.

Most recently, Mowery worked as the head of the reinsurance brokers Global Property Center of Excellence.

In her new role as Global Head of Distribution Mowery will oversee all of Guy Carpenter’s global placement and distribution strategy.

Mowery will be tasked with setting market-leading standards for client/broker/reinsurer interactions at the company, and also see through any activities related to systems and tools that drive interaction with the markets.
