Elementum Advisors, LLC, the insurance-linked securities (ILS) fund management and collateralised reinsurance underwriter, has announced the hiring of Alaina Cubbon as a Vice President, Portfolio Management, in the firm’s Bermuda based Investment Team.
In her new role at ILS manager Elementum Advisors, Cubbon will be focused on portfolio construction and underwriting for Elementum’s CRI (collateralised reinsurance) inclusive funds.
Cubbon joins Elementum from her most recent position working in global insurance and reinsurance firm Hiscox’x ILS unit.
Working at Hiscox ILS in Bermuda, Cubbon’s responsibilities included portfolio construction, reporting, valuation, and systems and product development.
As well as extensive reinsurance and ILS market experience, Cubbon also has a depth of ESG-expertise which Elementum said will be “instrumental” as the ILS manager continues to evolve its approach and framework to ESG management.

Prior to her role at Hiscox ILS, Cubbon has held roles as Vice President of Analytics and Research at the reinsurance arm Hiscox Re in Bermuda, and before that was a member of the Property Underwriting Team at Catlin Underwriting (formerly Wellington Underwriting) in London.
