Ed hires John Turner of Aon as its Bermuda Chairman

Reinsurance, specialty and wholesale broking group Ed has announced the hiring and appointment of John Turner (previously of Aon) as its new Chairman of Ed Bermuda.

In the role, Turner will report to Chris Bonard, CEO of Ed Bermuda, and will work to provide hands-on support in driving forwards the potential of Ed’s recently formed operations on the island.

Ed received approval to begin its operations in Bermuda in late June this year, aiming to provide a full range of multi-line broking services.

Turner was most recently Chairman – Aon Commercial Risk Solutions UK & Americas and has over 40 years’ experience in insurance and reinsurance, 30 of which have been in Lloyd’s broking.

During his career, Turner has led teams covering lines of business including property, casualty, terrorism, power, energy and construction, resulting in broad expertise and importantly connections across the insurance and reinsurance industry.

John excels at developing links with clients and carriers, which will be invaluable as we build up our services on the island.”
