Dominic Addesso appointed non-exec Chairman of BMS

Dominic Addesso, the former CEO of Everest Re, has been appointed by independent insurance and reinsurance brokerage BMS Group as its new Non-Executive Chairman of its U.S. reinsurance broking arm.

Addesso departed from insurance and reinsurance carrier Everest Re at the end of 2019, following six years at the company.

BMS has strengthened its board significantly with an announcement today that Addesso would take on the Non-Executive Chairman role, while another industry luminary LoriAnn Lowery-Biggers takes on an independent Non-Executive Director position, at BMS Intermediaries Inc., the BMS Group’s U.S. reinsurance intermediary unit.

Both Addesso and Lowery-Biggers are also becoming independent Non-Executive Directors of BMS Investment Holding Company, the holding company for the broader BMS Group, effective immediately.

Addesso has more than 41 years of insurance and reinsurance sector experience having held various roles at Munich Re America from 1997 including President of US Treaty, then moving on to Everest Re in 2011. Addesso began his insurance career in 1978 at Selective Insurance.

Lowery-Biggers has more than 30 years of global financial and insurance market experience, most recently gained at The Navigators Group, Inc. having joined as President of the Group’s Field Operations in 2009 and most recently been its Group Chief Marketing Officer. Lowery-Biggers also held the position of President of Lloyd’s of London, North America, leading the markets business operations across the US and Canada. She has also held senior positions at Wells Fargo Insurance Services and brokerage Marsh and McLennan Companies.
