Global law firm Dentons has appointed new hire John J. Sarchio as a partner in the Insurance Regulatory practice. Sarchio has experience in insurance and reinsurance transactional law, including catastrophe bonds, sidecars and other ILS arrangements.
Sarchio will advise Dentons clients on reinsurance transactions, including insurance-linked securities (ILS), as well as insurance industry mergers, acquisitions and financings, self-insurance and captive programs and insurance regulatory consulting and compliance. He will operate from the law firm’s Miami and New York offices.
He has particular transactional legal experience in insurance or reinsurance securitizations, catastrophe bonds, reinsurance sidecars, XXX/AXXX reserve financing, and other insurance-linked securities (ILS).
Additionally Sarchio has experience of insurance company demutualizations, reciprocal conversions, bank-insurer affiliations and mutual insurer mergers, as well as representing insurance industry clients in regulatory matters.

Sarchio previously worked at law firm Chadbourne & Parke LLP as a partner and co-head of its insurance and reinsurance practice group. Prior to that he worked at White & Case LLP, where he was a partner and head of its global insurance industry practice group from 1998.
