International banking, securities and investments group Citi has hired an experienced insurance-linked securities (ILS) and structured reinsurance expert in Philippe Kremer, who joined the firm from his most recent role at Swiss Re.
Kremer has joined Citi’s Strategic Risk Solutions group as a Director for Structured Solutions addressing all Global Markets, falling into a team led by Marc Windfuhr, Managing Director, Head of Financial Institutions Group Solutions Americas in the Strategic Risk Solutions Group
Kremer had worked for global reinsurance firm Swiss Re for over seven years, having joined the companies insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused Swiss Re Capital Markets division, where he worked on ILS, catastrophe bond and other reinsurance instruments structuring.
Before leaving Swiss Re, Kremer held the role of Deputy Head, ILS Structuring, Americas.
Joining Citi in recent weeks, Kremer brings expertise in ILS origination and structuring, as well as other structured reinsurance solutions to the bank.
Kremer will work closely in his role with John Modin, Managing Director, Head of Insurance Solutions at Citi, and his colleagues in Financial Institutions Group banking.
They will jointly work on delivering ILS and reinsurance solutions including catastrophe bonds, sidecars and other structured re/insurance products.
Kremer will also has a broad mandate across the industry, delivering solutions to the property and casualty (P&C) sector, as well as to the life insurance market including bespoke structured solutions and financing transactions.
Prior to his time at Swiss Re, Kremer worked for the Citi Institutional Clients Group in Zurich at the start of his career in capital markets.
