Chubb promotes Parmar & Crosby to lead overseas ceded reinsurance

U.S. and global primary insurance carrier and reinsurance company Chubb has named two new reinsurance buyers for the carriers international business, under the Chubb Overseas General brand.

Chubb Overseas General, the company’s international general insurance business, operates in more than 50 countries and territories, so the reinsurance arrangements for this group are critical to the company.

Sunil Parmar and Alexander Crosby will now lead the ceded reinsurance business for this segment, being jointly promoted to the roles of Vice President and Senior Reinsurance Officer, Chubb Overseas General (COG).

The move sees this pair succeeding Jeremiah Konz who was recently appointed Chief Reinsurance Officer, Chubb.

In their new positions, Parmar and Crosby will now be responsible for treaty reinsurance purchases within Chubb Overseas General (COG) worldwide.

The pair will report to Timothy O’Donnell, Vice President, Chubb Group, Division President, Commercial Property and Casualty, Overseas General Insurance and also to Jeremiah Konz in these new positions.

Parmar was previously Senior Reinsurance Officer at Chubb European Group and he will continue to be based in London.

Parmar’s reinsurance responsibilities will include managing and executing the purchase of property, casualty, financial lines, marine, specialty and aviation treaties across Chubb Overseas General.

He has over 17 years’ experience managing ceded reinsurance buyers in London, Paris, Tokyo and Sydney and in the past worked for Montpelier Re and Guy Carpenter in a variety of reinsurance roles.

Crosby also continues to be based in London and takes on responsibility for managing and executing the purchase of financial lines, energy, political risk and other Chubb Overseas General reinsurance placements.

Crosby has held a range of actuarial roles at Chubb before joining the Ceded Reinsurance team, working as an actuary across pricing, reserving and capital modelling and has over 15 years’ experience managing ceded reinsurance buyers in London, Miami and São Paulo.
