   Global insurance and reinsurance intermediary Aon held its first-quarter 2013 earnings conference call recently and one of the topics discussed was the brokers recent agreement with Warren Buffett’s reinsurance firm Berkshire Hathaway bringing sidecar reinsurance type capacity to Aon’s customers at Lloyd’s of London.
2. Goldman Sachs completes sale of Global Atlantic reinsurance group
   Investment bank Goldman Sachs has announced the closing of the private offering of shares in its reinsurance group, completing the sale process of a majority stake in the business.
3. Armor Re Ltd. Florida wind catastrophe bond launched for first-time sponsor

5. Offer third-party backed alternative reinsurance capacity or lose out: Aspen CEO
   Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited, the insurance and reinsurance group that recently launched its new Aspen Capital Markets division, announced its Q1 2013 results recently and the CEO discussed how alternative reinsurance capacity is an opportunity not to be missed.
6. Lancashire reacts creatively to third-party reinsurance capital, settles Sandy ILW
   Lancashire CEO Richard Brindle mentioned the impact of third-party capital inflows on the reinsurance marketplace in an earnings conference call, but stated that Lancashire is reacting creatively to this new market dynamic.
7. Bosphorus catastrophe bond a real success story, says Turkish cat pool
   The Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool (TCIP) comments on the completion of its $400m parametric cat bond, Bosphorus 1 Re Ltd. and is clearly delighted with the successful issuance.
8. Bentley pension scheme in £400m longevity swap with Abbey Life
   The £400m longevity risk transfer deal hedges the risk of pensioners living longer for luxury car manufacturer Bentley’s UK pension scheme.
9. Blue Capital Global Reinsurance Fund grows by $52m
   Blue Capital has been raising new funds for its flagship listed catastrophe reinsurance and retrocessional linked investment fund Blue Capital Global Reinsurance Fund Limited and has successfully raised $52m in new capital from investors.
10. Allstate’s Sanders Re catastrophe bond grows in size while pricing drops
    U.S. insurer Allstate’s latest catastrophe bond deal, Sanders Re Ltd. (Series 2013-1), has upsized during the marketing of the deal. At the same time the price guidance on both tranches of notes being issued has dropped.
