Appleby names Brad Adderley as Office Managing Partner in Bermuda

Appleby, the specialist offshore law firm and fiduciary services provider, has announced that Brad Adderley will take over from Tim Faries as Office Managing Partner in Bermuda, effective January 1st, 2022.

In addition, Adderley will head Appleby’s Corporate practice in Bermuda and the company’s insurance and reinsurance sector globally, positions held by Faries for more than a decade.

Faries has served as Office Manager Partner in Bermuda for two terms, and will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the firm’s specialist corporate and trust services provider, Appleby Global Services (AGS), a role he assumed in 2020. He will also continue to be a partner at the firm.

Adderley brings extensive expertise in the re/insurance industry to his new role, and has a specialist focus on insurance-linked securities (ILS) and alternative collateralised reinsurance investment deals.

Throughout his career, he has advised clients on transactions such as catastrophe bonds, special purpose insurers, sidecars, life insurance securitisations, and other fully collateralised structures, as well as corporate structures and M&A deals.

Currently, Adderley is also a member of the law firm’s global Technology & Innovation team.

“With the increasing growth of our AGS business and after six years as Bermuda Managing Partner and many years as head of our corporate practice, it is time to pass the leadership and daily operations of the Bermuda office to my very worthy colleague Brad who I know will infuse the business with the enthusiasm, dedication and high standards he is known for,” said Faries.
