Aon has hired long-time Asia Pacific reinsurance broking executive Richard Jones from Guy Carpenter, who joins the firm to become Executive Chairman of the Aon Reinsurance Solutions business in Asia.
Jones had been with rival reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter since 1987, with his last 17 years working for the company being in the Asia Pacific region.
Most recently, Jones was made Chairman of the Asia Pacific region at Guy Carpenter, based in Singapore and also heading up that office for the broker.
He has now left the firm and is moving over to rival Aon to join its Reinsurance Solutions business as Executive Chairman for the Asia region.
In the role at Aon, Jones will be responsible for business development and supporting clients across the region.
He will join Aon in May 2019 and remain based in Singapore, reporting to George Attard, CEO Asia of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business.
