Insurance and reinsurance broking giant Aon has announced a new senior reinsurance leadership team appointment, having hired Ben Love from Hyperion underwriting unit Tamsis DUAL.
Love will join the UK Leadership Team of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions division and will report directly to Reinsurance Solutions’ UK CEO, Nick Frankland.
His new role at Aon will see him focused primarily on client growth strategy, as well as other specific client responsibilities.
Nick Frankland commented on Love’s appointment, saying, “With more than 20 years of experience in the reinsurance industry across underwriting, broking and third-party capacity management, Ben is well positioned to understand our clients’ needs in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
“We are delighted to have someone of his expertise join Reinsurance Solutions and the UK Leadership Team of our business.”
Love joined Tamesis DUAL, an underwriting franchise of the Hyperion Group, as its Director of Underwriting back in 2018.
During a roughly 30-year reinsurance career, Love has worked in London, Bermuda and the US, in a range of companies and roles.
His career began as a broker with Greg Fester in the 90’s and he then worked for Benfield in the US and Bermuda for a number of years.
In 2007, Love transitioned to the underwriting side at Hiscox in Bermuda, working as an SVP of Reinsurance Underwriting.
He then moved back to London with Hiscox in 2021 and eventually became Hiscox Re’s Head of Business Development, where he stayed until moving to Tamesis DUAL in 2018.
