Retrocession and reinsurance focused specialist investment manager Lutece Investment Management Ltd. has hired Robert Jardine, formerly of Willis Towers Watson in Bermuda, as the firms new Head of Portfolio Analytics.
Jardine, a qualified actuary and experienced in the valuation and analysis of ILS fund and collateralised reinsurance portfolios, joins Lutece Re, the managers reinsurer, to lead portfolio analytics from the firms Bermuda base.
He had spent almost 6 years at Willis Towers Watson in actuarial roles with a significant proportion of his time spent analysing ILS vehicles and funds.
We understand Jardine joins Lutece this month and given his background and expertise he is likely to be a valuable addition to the expanding team there.
Lutece was founded by Erik Manning, an experienced ILS structuring and broking specialist who had most recently been with Aon Benfield, alongside Angus Ayliffe, who was most recent Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at reinsurer Ariel Re in Bermuda.
The Lutece team was then brought in-house by investment house BTG Pactual, deepening an already existing relationship by making Lutece its in-house specialist ILS investment management unit and launching a strategy named Retro Opportunities.
With expansion ahead for Lutece adding experienced hires, such as Jardine, will be a focus as the key January reinsurance renewals approach.
