Reception to be held in remembrance of Jonathan Barnes

A reception is to be held in London by Securis Investment Partners LLP in memory and remembrance of adviser Jonathan Barnes who passed away on March 1st 2018.

Barnes had most recently worked as an adviser to ILS and reinsurance investments manager Securis Investment Partners and the company would like to invite others to attend a reception where Barnes’ life and career will be celebrated.

Barnes began his working life in the insurance and reinsurance industry in the Lloyd’s market, working as an underwriter for a variety of syndicates.

He then joined broker Aon’s investment banking and insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused unit, Aon Capital Markets, in 2002, working on numerous catastrophe bond and collateralised reinsurance transactions.

Barnes joined Securis Investment Partners in 2007 and his expertise, market knowledge and connections were instrumental in helping the ILS manager grow its business over the following years.

In 2015 Barnes moved into an advisory role at Securis, leaving active underwriting behind, but remained instrumental in many of the initiatives the ILS manager implemented over the next few years.

Barnes was an extremely well-known and liked character in the London market and across the broader ILS world.

Securis Investment Partners is hosting a reception in remembrance of Jonathan Barnes on Wednesday 25th April, 3pm to 6pm, at The Gibson Hall, London. The company asked us to share this information with our readers.
