Kane, a large global independent insurance management firm and one of the leading providers of insurance-linked securities administration services has announced that their ILS Practice Head Liz Frederick has also been appointed to the role of Managing Director, Kane USA. Ms Frederick will continue in the role heading up the ILS Practice and will start as U.S. MD in March.
Frederick has been based in the Cayman Islands for the last six years and has been instrumental in Kane’s growth in the ILS and reinsurance sector, being heavily involved in the structuring and on-going management of a range of ILS and captive structures, including catastrophe bonds, side cars, segregated account transformers, pure captives, rent-a-captives and special purpose financial captives.
Simon Hinshelwood, Kane Group Chief Executive, said; “We are delighted that Liz Frederick has taken up the position of Managing Director, Kane (USA). Liz has achieved exceptional success as Head of our ILS operations, and her extensive experience in the international insurance markets, and in particular the Americas, makes her an ideal candidate to run our US operations, as we look to expand our activities in the region.”
It will be interesting to see if Kane will begin to look at anywhere within the U.S. as a possible location for domiciling ILS and cat bond issuing entities as they expand their work in the region.
