There’s a saying in England that buses always come in two’s, usually heard from people who’ve been standing at a bus stop for a long time. It seems hurricane forecasters have heard it too.
Colorado State University have just released their first forecast for the 2009 Atlantic Tropical Storm season. William Gray’s team have predicted 14 tropical storms in the atlantic basin in 2009 with 7 developing into hurricanes. 3 of those hurricanes are predicted to be severe with a rank of 3 or higher on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
You can read their full forecast here and compare it to the Tropical Strom Risk format I wrote about yesterday.
