Loss estimates from local media now put the industry impact as high as US $440m.

    The World Bank has announced the completion of its $360 million Mexico catastrophe bond transaction, which protects against Mexico earthquakes and named storms, and of which the majority of the capacity came from the insurance-linked securities (ILS) space.

  9. Lottoland renews jackpot ILS at upsized EUR 120m, adds flexibility
    Fast-growing Gibraltar licensed online lottery provider the Lottoland Group has renewed its Fortuna collateralized reinsurance or insurance-linked securities (ILS) transaction at an upsized EUR 120 million, increasing the size of its capital markets-backed jackpot insurance coverage.

  10. Aeolus gains £51m investment from London Pensions Fund Authority
    UK local authority pension fund manager the London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA) made an investment of around £51 million in two of the reinsurance linked investment funds managed by Bermuda-based specialist Aeolus Capital Management Ltd.
