Chris Conway moves to Neon property reinsurance team

Reinsurance and insurance specialist Neon, a subsidiary of the Great American Insurance Group, has hired Chris Conway to its Bermuda property reinsurance team, an underwriter with experience of multiple capital structures, including collateralized, ILS and the hedge fund reinsurer strategy.

Conway, who was recently a senior underwriter at Ascot Underwriting Bermuda, has experience of underwriting collateralized U.S. and international property catastrophe reinsurance, retrocession, property-per-risk covers and insurance-linked securities (ILS).

He previously worked for a number of companies with differing capital strategies, including roles at asset manager and capital markets backed AQR Re, hedge fund backed Third Point Reinsurance and traditional player Axis Specialty.

Conway joins the Neon Property Reinsurance team in Bermuda, with the new role effective immediately, reporting to Head of Property Reinsurance, Nick Pritchard.

In the new role at Neon, Conway’s focus will be on the U.S. property reinsurance market, helping Neon to grow its business there by producing underwriting business for Neon’s Bermuda office through U.S. brokers.
