Keynote speakers announced for ILS Asia 2017, tickets still available

Today we’re delighted to announce four keynote speakers for our upcoming ILS Asia 2017 conference, which is being held at the Marina Bay Sands complex in Singapore on the 13th July. Tickets remain available so please register to attend today.

With Artemis ILS Asia 2017, we return to Singapore for the second installment of our annual insurance-linked securities meeting in Asia, with the goal of furthering education, while facilitating introductions and building on connections between the region and mature-market based ILS executives.

To that end, the conference will focus on continuing the introduction of the region to ILS, with talks recapping recent activity in the ILS market, particularly where there is an Asian focus, and other educational sessions that will take the audience through some of the finer points of understanding and accessing the ILS market.

Today we’re delighted to name four keynote speakers that are joining us:

John DeCaro, Founding Principal, Elementum Advisors, LLC.

John will be giving a keynote talk on ILS activity in Asia, how the market has developed, both in terms of catastrophe bonds and collateralized reinsurance structures, as well as his insights on the region, both on the transactional side and regarding the investor-base.

Jinal Shah, Managing Director, Capital Markets Solutions, RMS

Jinal will provide an update on the importance of risk modelling tools to the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market, as well as what software can help investors to better understand their allocations and make informed decisions.

Lixin Zeng, Chief Executive Officer, AlphaCat Managers Ltd.

Lixin will provide an insightful intro to catastrophe bond investments, explaining what those looking at ILS as an asset class often see as their first allocation opportunity, including the pro’s and con’s of active versus passive allocations to this market.

Dr. Marcel Grandi, Head of Underwriting, Credit Suisse Insurance-Linked Strategies.

Marcel will provide a forward-looking outlook for the ILS market in Asia, rounding off the day with his thoughts on the opportunity that ILS presents to both ceding companies and investors in the Asia region, issues such as collateralized reinsurance market development, and what needs to be done to maintain ILS market growth trajectory in Asia.
