Tibor Winkler joins PG3 AG as ILS Portfolio Manager

Share

PG3 AG, the family office of the founders of Swiss private markets investment specialists Partners Group, has hired Tibor Winkler, formerly of ILS specialists Secquaero Advisors, as an ILS Portfolio Manager and Managing Director.

PG3 has a large portfolio of insurance-linked investments, ranging from collateralised reinsurance and catastrophe bonds to run-off deals, but as a family office for the private investments of the three founders of the asset manager Partners Group, as well as selected third-party investors, they have a mandate that enables them to target a broader range of deals than some ILS fund managers are able to.

Winkler joined PG3 AG in February, after almost three years spent with Secquaero Advisors as a Senior Structuring Manager where he worked on both life and non-life ILS transactions for the firm and also on transactions sourced for the partnership with Schroders.

Before that Winkler worked for Aegon and its internal reinsurance vehicle Blue Square Re, where he focused on structuring risk transfer deals with a particular focus on capital efficiency, including longevity swap deals. He began his career in risk modelling, with time spent at both EQECAT and RMS.

With a track record in structuring complex reinsurance and ILS deals, Winkler will be able to assist the PG3 team in its acquisition of interesting insurance and reinsurance linked return investment opportunities.

The PG3 investment team currently allocates somewhere around $450 million to insurance-linked strategies, with $300 million allocated to a private ILS fund and $150 million allocated to closed-book insurance investment opportunities.
