Law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP has elected insurance-linked securities (ILS) and capital market / reinsurance convergence focused executive Michael Halsband to a partner position at the firm.
Halsband joined Drinker Biddle in 2015, taking a position in the firm’s Insurance Transactional and Regulatory Team.
Halsband had worked in the legal sphere, as North America General Counsel at Alea Group and insurance and corporate regulatory counsel at Centre Group, before moving onto the reinsurance convergence and ILS space with roles at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Sirius Capital Markets.
With broad experience in origination, structuring, execution and marketing of a range of ILS and catastrophe bond transactions, as well as the creation of third-party reinsurance capital platforms, Halsband brought significant convergence experience to Drinker Biddle.
Now made partner Halsband, based in New York and a member of the law firms Corporate Group, will no doubt continue to focus on insurance, reinsurance and capital market or insurance-linked securities (ILS) legal advisory work.
