JLT Re adds Carter to lead structured & non-traditional EU reinsurance

JLT Re, global reinsurance broking and consultancy services provider, has appointed Matthew Carter as a Partner in its London Market & International Division, to lead structured and non-traditional reinsurance activities in the UK and Europe.

In this role Carter will likely have close contact with the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market and its ILS fund managers, with many collateralised reinsurance deals featuring in the structured and non-traditional arena, particularly around capital efficiency where the capital markets can have an edge.

Carter will lead all structured and non-traditional reinsurance across the UK and Europe as well as working alongside the JLT Re North America structured products team.

Prior to joining JLT Re, Carter was at fellow reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter, where he held the role of Senior Vice President in the Structured Products and Capital Solutions team.
