Securis Investment Partners hires Raphael Rayees from Aon Securities

Specialist insurance linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance investments manager Securis Investment Partners has hired Raphael Rayees, previously at Aon Securities in London, to assist with managing its catastrophe bond portfolio.

Securis launched its first UCITS-compliant catastrophe bond fund, the Securis Catastrophe Bond Fund, earlier this year, as it targeted increasing its cat bond assets under management.

The hiring of Rayees will provide additional manpower to manage the build out of the new UCITS cat bond strategy at Securis, increasing the level of service the manager can provide to its growing cat bond investor base.

Rayees spent around three and a half years with Aon Securities, working on reinsurance capital markets structuring and origination. Prior to Aon, Rayees worked at Lloyd’s of London, during which time he was seconded to Aon Benfied Securities, as it was then called.

Artemis understands that Rayees is set to join Securis at the beginning of September and will be focused on the catastrophe bond strategies, assisting in managing the portfolio and the trading of cat bond positions.
