Mt. Logan Re, global reinsurance firm Everest Re’s fully collateralized reinsurance sidecar type vehicle and segregated accounts management unit, has announced a senior hire in the appointment of ex-AIG executive Michael Beck to Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Beck, who formerly held senior roles in insurance and reinsurance at most recently AIG, and previously PartnerRe, Swiss Re, and Zurich Re, will join Mt. Logan Re officially as from today, April 25th 2016.
Most recently Beck held the role of Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Property at insurer AIG, prior to which he was Vice President, International Commercial Property at AIG’s Chartis. Previously Beck has held roles focused on operations, M&A, investments, underwriting and structured finance.
Rick Pagnani, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mt. Logan Re, said on the hire; “Mike has tremendous experience and scope and is uniquely qualified to drive our strategic prioritization and best in class operational practices. He will play a critical role in helping us navigate the rich but challenging opportunity set before us.”
Beck also holds an MBA in Finance from Fairfield University.
