Bermuda-located CATCo Investment Management, the reinsurance and retrocessional reinsurance linked investment and fund manager, has added two new senior underwriting hires, as it builds out its team in advance of the 2016 renewals.
CATCo, which runs a number of reinsurance and retrocessional linked investment funds and strategies including the London-listed retrocession fund the CATCo Reinsurance Opportunities Fund Ltd., has announced the hire of Simon Moore and Lindsay Watson to further strengthen the managers underwriting capabilities.
Simon Moore has over 25 years experience of global reinsurance, with his most recent role being at reinsurance broker Aon Benfield, where he was a technical reinsurance specialist.
Watson has over 13 years of global reinsurance experience, most recently as a Senior Underwriter at Amlin Bermuda where she underwrote a global diversified portfolio of property catastrophe risk. Prior to that Watson spent 9 years at broker Guy Carpenter.
The pair have an in-depth working knowledge of the CATCo retro and reinsurance products and are expected to provide additional support to CATCo’s underwriting processes.
Tony Belisle, Chief Executive Officer of CATCo Investment Management Ltd., commented on the hires; “As CATCo continues to grow and provide new, innovative products for 2016 to our reinsurance clients, it is essential that we have the highest calibre underwriting team possible.
“I am delighted that we have been able to attract two such highly recognised experts in Simon and Lindsay into joining our team. We all look forward to working with them as they help us to deliver continued value to our clients.”
