Clive O’Connell added to ILS manager Twelve Capital’s board

Clive O’Connell, the lead partner of law firm Goldberg Segalla’s London office, has been appointed a member of the Board of Directors of insurance-linked investments manager Twelve Capital (UK) Ltd.

O’Connell, a leading expert in insurance and reinsurance law, has been elected Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and will serve as a non-executive independent member of it.

Twelve Capital recently established an operation in the United Kingdom, targeting continued growth, as a platform to develop its business both in London and the European Union.

As part of this move the firm registered Twelve Capital (UK) Ltd. as an investment management firm regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and fully owned by Twelve Capital Holding AG. To reflect proper governance and institutionalisation a Board of Director’s was appointed and Twelve Capital has added Clive O’Connell as a non-executive member.

O’Connell will serve as Vice-Chairman of the Board, alongside Dr. Urs Ramseier, Chairman of Twelve Capital Holding AG and Twelve Capital AG, Zurich and Dr. Christoph Buerer, CEO, serving as Chairman and member of the Board of Directors, respectively, of Twelve Capital (UK) Ltd.

O’Connell is noted as a driving force of convergence, spearheading the combination of legal expertise in reinsurance and capital markets. He is currently General Counsel and a Board Member of the International Insurance Society, and also the U.K. Chair for the Defense Research Institute International and a regular presenter at meetings of the International Association of Claims Professionals.
