The CATCo Reinsurance Opportunities Fund has a new non-executive director and chairman after the incembent resigned from the post to prevent future conflicts of interest. Anthony Taylor handed in his notice with effect from today, 5th November, after advising the board of that his involvement with a small but growing portfolio of collateralised reinsurance businesses had the potential to clash with the specialty reinsurance portfolio of CATCo.
The CATCo Reinsurance Opportunities Fund is operated by CATCo Investment Management, a specialist Bermuda based reinsurance-linked investment business who manage around $2 billion of retrocessional reinsurance portfolios for their clients. CATCo have already appointed a new non-executive director and chairman, having appointed Nigel Barton the ex-founder and chief executive of Oxygen Holdings plc, a specialist insurance broking business based in London.
Taylor commented; “I am pleased to have played a role in the launch and evolution of the company, and I wish continued success to the CATCo directors and management team.”
